The CWRM Lubrication Principle is based on a release by “The American Iron and Steel Institute”, which states: -“Every wire in every inch of rope must be free to move and adjust each minute of operation. “Unless each wire is surrounded by lubricant, this essential movement is impaired, friction results and unnecessary wear occurs to weaken the rope and shorten its useful life.” Over the past 20 years CWRM has developed Wire Rope Preventative Maintenance Programmes, including Rope Lubrication Systems and Manual Lubrication Services for various applications – using Oil. These include, Drum Winders - vertical and decline, Draglines; Friction Winders - head and tail ropes; Stage Winders and Guide ropes. Marine ropes, such as Anchor ropes, Winch and Container Crane ropes, etc. have been lubricated by CWRM. Increased Rope life improvements of more than three times have been recorded on drum winder ropes with a resulting ROI of >40%. These results have been achieved by applying Wire Rope lubricating oil regularly either automatically or by making use of the CWRM Manual Rope Lubrication service Programme.
