Feri Airlift Pump Systems SA manufactures airlift pumps, here in South Africa, for boreholes, sumps, dams, wellpoints, etc.Feri Pumps are fairly new in South Africa but they have been in use in Australia (where they were invented) since 1987. The Feri Pump is capable of handling any water be it acidic, salty,dirty, etc., especially where a conventional electric pump is not suitable and, since there are no moving parts or corrosive components below ground, no maintenance is necessary!The air is supplied by an Air Delivery Unit (ADU), which is similar to an Air Compressor, which is situated on ground level.Here in SA we have also developed a smaller version of the Feri Pump which is very suitable for use in rural areas for domestic water supply as they can run on low power solar electric energy.
